Right now we are working with multiple cartoonists whose lives are at stake. Their names frequently change, and we may not publicise their plight, but normally we have our eyes on at least three. Your donation to CRNI directly contributes to protecting cartoonists’ lives, defending them against censorship and keeping the doors of free speech open.

Over the last two decades CRNI has heard from many hundreds of cartoonists experiencing limits upon their freedom of expression. CRNI works to defend cartoonists against threats and abuses ranging from censorship, fines & penalties, law suits, physical intimidation (including to family members), assault, imprisonment and disappearance to execution.
We stand by those at risk, seeking to bring international pressure on their persecutors by mounting campaigns for their just treatment, reaching out to heads of state and ministries and coordinating collaborative actions with other organizations that promote free expression.
You can help our efforts by telling others about CRNI, supporting the projects of our network of international cartoonist representatives, donating to the support of our threatened cartoonists and helping with the administrative costs. Whether it’s $5, $50 or $500 — all donations are appreciated, carefully husbanded and used for this work.
