Brazilian cartoonist Carlos Latuff reports via Twitter of the detention of his publisher in Turkey, Murat Mihçioğlu.

As long-time readers of our blog will know, access to Latuff’s website was barred from Turkish IP addresses some months prior to his book’s release last year. Such geo-blocking orders have become a preferred tactic of Turkey’s government, for example a total ban on all sites published via WordPress if they would not assist in restricting blogs carrying content they find objectionable. And of course the harassment of Mihçioğlu comes at the same time as the arrest of many journalists and media workers including staff from Cumhuriyet newspaper and their political cartoonist Musa Kart.
