The cartoon features POTUS Donald J Trump in Elvis Presley garb and numerous figures from his family, cabinet and key supporters in Congress; Attorney General William Barr, Vice President Mike Pence, counselor to the President KellyAnne Conway, Senior Advisor Stephen Miller, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, FLOTUS Melania Trump and so on. Also caricatured are doctors Deborah Birx and Anthony Fauci.
The Las Vegas lounge scenario is a satire of the President’s daily media briefings at the White House during the coronavirus pandemic. While originally intended to offer information about the federal government’s response to COVID-19, commentators have observed that the briefings have become party political broadcasts, especially so following the cancellation of conventional campaign events ahead of November’s election.
Available for a limited time only, the high quality giclée prints are each signed and numbered by Ann Telnaes and sold exclusively through Cartoonist Group. Half of all money raised will be donated to CRNI to aid in our ongoing mission, the defense of threatened cartoonists around the world.

It is an act that epitomizes freedom of expression and nothing could be more emblematic of the rights enshrined by the First Amendment to the USA Constitution.
That the subject of this particular cartoon exhibits a consistently combative attitude to the press, relies on conspiracy theories and quackery even while accusing others of spreading ‘fake news’ and indulges in dalliances with authoritarianism – all matters that have caused alarm to human rights and media freedom organizations everywhere – makes its satire all the more essential. I loved the piece when I saw it earlier this year and I’m delighted by Ann’s generous offer to share proceeds from its sale with us.”
