Our organization’s work has been recognised in the “Campaigning” category by the UK-based anti-censorship non-profit.

We are delighted to announce that CRNI is one of a quartet of international campaigning organizations selected in this year’s shortlist, drawn from more than four hundred crowdsourced nominations.
“Free speech is the cornerstone of a free society – and it’s under increasing threat worldwide. That’s why it’s more important than ever to recognise the groups and individuals willing to stand up for it”
Jodie Ginsberg, CEO, Index on Censorship
Full details of all fifteen nominees across four categories can be found in Index on Censorship’s release to the media (below). Winners will be announced in April and thereafter enter a fellowship program with support and training provided throughout the following year.

“We’re enormously grateful to the team at Index on Censorship and the distinguished judging panel for this high compliment. It’s extremely humbling to be listed alongside so many truly courageous artists, journalists and other frontline defenders of freedom of expression. If our work is of any value at all it’s because of all the wonderful people who’ve sat on our board of directors and advisors over the last two decades, our small but diligent staff – especially those who’ve worked on a voluntary basis – and the many cartoonists who’ve served as regional representatives around the world. Most especially this nomination and selection recognises our founder and director, Dr. Robert Russell.”
