Terry Anderson is a professional cartoonist and caricaturist. He is co-ordinator at the Scottish Cartoon Art Studio and has been a member of the resident team since it was established in 1999. For more than fifteen years he produced comics and feature illustrations for The Glasgow Herald.
Today he specializes in character design, illustration, cartoon strips and scribing for private and public sector bodies. Terry recently organized an international cartoon exhibition on the 2014 Scottish independence referendum – The Auld Acquaintance – that was shown in five venues around Europe; selected works will be presented as part of the Festival of Politics at the Scottish Parliament in 2015. A former student of The Kubert School of cartooning, he’s a member of the Professional Cartoonists’ Organisation (FECO’s affiliate in the UK) and The Cartoon Movement.
For a decade Terry served on the executive committee and ultimately as President of the Scottish Artists Union, the trade union for all visual artists working in Scotland. Frequently asked to speak publicly and lead workshops on cartooning he is also the host of Drawn Out, a podcast about cartoonists launching later in 2015.
